Many people think that sexual infidelity is the leading cause of divorce, but this isn't the case. Experts have found out that poor communication is the leading reason why married couples decide to split. Some other causes of divorce include:
1. Becoming lost in the roles
After marriage, you may forget your single ways and single friends, and when you add children to the mix, you may soon completely forget that you are a couple. Paying much attention to the children has made many couples to drift apart to an extent that they can no longer remember why they got married in the first place. Divorce comes in when the couple no longer have anything in common.
2. Getting in the relationship for the wrong reasons
Many people get into marriage just because it’s what they think they should do, or what the society expect them to do. Some also marry because of money. Getting into marriage for the wrong reason is a ticket to a quick divorce. This is because just after a short while in the marriage, you’ll either feel dissatisfied, cheated or frustrated.
3. When the intimacy disappears.
Somewhere along the journey of marriage, their will be some misunderstandings, or once in a while a partner doesn't feel well. The other partner may have the idea that he/she isn't as romantic or he/she isn't as sexual as he/she used to be. Women generally need romance to be sexual receptive while men generally need sexual receptivity to feel romantic. A lessening on either's part triggers a pulling back in the other and may lead to divorce.
Divorce can also come as a result of unmet expectations, finances, being out of touch, having different interests and priorities, and inability to resolve conflicts.
